The mission of our parish is to love God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind and our neighbors as ourselves.

As an Orthodox Christian community of believers, our vision is to experience a foretaste of God's Kingdom in this world and eternal life in His Kingdom to come.

Serving Christ. Serving People.

Aims and Purposes

The aims and purposes of our parish are to keep, practice and proclaim the Orthodox Christian Faith pure and undefiled.

Our beliefs are best summarized by the Nicene Creed of 325 AD. This is the Creed of the one, ancient, and undivided Christian Church and the only one ever used by Orthodox Christians.

We could summarize the values of the Orthodox Christian Church with the following (nine in all) Greek words. These values have been central to the Church ever since it was established. They might be easier to remember by thinking of them as the "on," the "e" and the "ias."

Evangelion: The Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Didache: The teachings-verbal and written- of Jesus Christ, His Disciples and the Church.

Ecclesia: The One, Holy, Katholiki and Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ.

Leitourgia: Worship, literally: "the work of the people."

Mysteria: The holy mysteries/sacraments

Koinonoia: Community/fellowship.

Diakonia: Service/ministry.

Martyria: Witness. Proclaiming Christ in words and actions.

Synergeia: Synergy. Doing the will and the work of God as individuals and working together as the Body of Christ.

The Ministry of our Parish

The ministry (diakonia) of our parish includes proclaiming and teaching the Gospel in accordance with the Orthodox Faith; sanctifying the faithful through God's grace in worship, the Divine Liturgy and the other sacraments; enhancing its parishioners spiritual life; and adding to the numbers of the faithful by receiving persons into the Church through instruction, baptism, and/or confirmation. In addition, our parish engages in educational and philanthropic activities to foster our aims and mission and to edify our parishioners in the Faith and ethos of the Church. Our parish may also engage in inter-Orthodox, ecumenical and interfaith activities in a manner consistent with the policies of the Archdiocese.
